If you use a lens from a medium format camera on a 35mm film or digital SLR body, the image  will be apparently magnified to what you are used to on a medium format camera. This is because 35mm film will only be able to record the central area of the available medium format image. The effect is even more pronounced with digital SLR cameras whose sensors are even smaller than 35mm film.
