In order to use other lenses with Minolta AF/Sony Alpha cameras, you will need to set the camera so that it recognises it does not have a lens which is electronically coupled. With film cameras, this involves holding certain function buttons while switching on the power. The procedure varies with actual model. We do have a list of these procedures, so please contact us. With digital SLR cameras, you will need to go to the menu and find the section for 'shutter lock'. This must be turned to 'off'.
